WHY ODA? WHY NOW?
The recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are fresh in everyone’s memory, but enough time has passed between the events and the present that there can be genuine curiosity from the audience, regardless of anyone's stance on the war.
We see an opportunity to highlight the intense and risky work the Special Forces must perform in their regular duties. They are no strangers to the front line and extremely dangerous situations, and, with the continued struggle with ISIS and other terrorist forces, there are ample amounts of stories to be told which offer a long-term format for this project.
ODA is a contemporary and realistic portrayal of the army’s Special Forces—America’s elite diplomat warriors. These teams live and work in the most austere locales, fighting alongside indigenous people in order to bring freedom to the oppressed. The Green Beret motto is “De Oppresso Liber.”
There are plenty of documentaries and feature films about war, but we know these units have been underrepresented. Furthermore, we take a fresh and unique look at issues that surround an ODA that are not always clear to civilians.
WHO ARE THE SPECIAL FORCES?
The Army Special Forces (Green Berets) are designed to deploy and execute nine doctrinal missions: unconventional warfare, foreign internal defense, direct action, counter-insurgency, special reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, information operations, counterproliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and security force assistance.

Greetings!
Thank you for taking the time to consider “ODA”, a scripted dramatic series based on the true stories of the Green Berets.
“ODA” is an original series that aims to tell the many amazing stories of the U.S. Army Special Forces, known widely as the “Green Berets”. These stories will be told through the lens of a single Special Forces Team, otherwise known as an Operational Detachment – Alpha (ODA). It is time to share these compelling stories with a world eager to learn more about this mysterious group of Operators.
Currently, we are looking for Executive Producing Partners as well as Directing and Talent partners to help us bring this series to life. If you are interested in contributing to this creation, we would love to hear from you!
The series is still in the early stages of development, and our team is open to all input, direction, and guidance from our partners. We are consciously open-minded toward suggestions, feedback, and new ideas! The single driving force for us is telling these fascinating stories.
So far, we have not cast any of the roles; however, we have a few strong candidates in mind for specific parts. We have spoken to potential sponsors in the defense and sports apparel industry to gauge interest in supporting such a project and received favorable responses. Further, we have socialized the series with a core group of Green Beret soldiers and the Special Forces Association; the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.
